My Day for RA

The Programme

My Day for RA is a pan-European educational programme that encourages men and women with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to dedicate a day to learn more about their condition and to set goals in order to feel more confident and empowered to manage their RA now and in the future.

Since the main symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are pain and fatigue, many patients will expend so much effort on day-to-day living that they rarely have time to think about the long-term implications of living with the condition. By understanding and acknowledging the effect of rheumatoid arthritis on their everyday lives, patients will be able to ensure that their condition is being managed appropriately and take the necessary steps to devise an individualised plan for the future.

The core element of the programme is the My Day Patient Action Planner, an interactive questionnaire created to help people with rheumatoid arthritis develop a straightforward, personalised, action plan for the future.

Across Europe and beyond, supporters have started to come together to symbolically donate joints as part of a first-of-its-kind Joint Effort composite animation to raise awareness of the programme. All of the donated joints will link together to form an animated human body image - click here to view.

Individuals, professionals and patient groups across Europe are invited to support the programme and will find more information on this programme by logging onto www.MyDayforRA.com

My Day for RA Pan-European Event

In the lead up to World Arthritis Day, we would like you to join us in celebrating inspiring people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This is an event to recognise and acknowledge individuals with RA, who are striving to live full and enriched lives. By continuing to effectively manage their healthcare needs, the My Day for RA honourees are role models to other sufferers.

The event programme will include:

  • An opportunity to hear inspirational patient testimonies and to learn, first hand, about the impact that RA has on the everyday life of sufferers
  • The chance to listen to the opinions of experts in the field of rheumatology on effective management strategies
  • Dinner and interview opportunities with a pan-European group of My Day for RA honourees, Patient Advocacy Group representatives and experts in the field of rheumatology

We hope that you will be able to join us in Barcelona, on Tuesday 22 September, for what promises to be an inspiring educational event!
